                               Africa - Libya

At last there’s a break in the cloud, and, Libya a top secret until now, is
opening up to the world. The fourth of the larger states in Africa, Libya is
unwrapping a package of spectacular mountain ranges, lush valleys, marvellous
historic sites and a 2,000km Mediterranean coast of beaches.

The country stands as a cultural and geographic bridge, linking Egypt, the
Arabian lands and the territory of the Arab W. It’s also a link between
Mediterranean Europe and Saharan Africa.

        The hearts of Libya’s people in cities and villages that dot the
country’s meadows and oases are as warm as the sun that drenches its
Mediterranean beaches.

        Its historical monuments are a manifestation of ancient civilizations that
made the country their home. The carvings of the Akakus Mountains, the
drawings in the Matchandoush caves and the historical city of Ghiraza are
centuries old.

        Tripoli, the capital and biggest city, sometimes referred too as the
‘queenof the seas, is a lush garden of olive trees, palms, grapevines and
orange groves. It is home to Islamic civilization, Arab Art and handcraft.

Every monument in the capital, where you can climb the old city walls, tells
a story. The castle Al-Saraya Al-Hamra believed to be from the pre-Roman era,
towers over the city and houses a museum which features the country’s
Phoenician, Greek and Roman history.

    Accessibility
            Trouble-free Accessibility
             Whatever Your Disability
Fully Committed to WAI / RNBI Website Standards

We hope this page helps you to get more out of our
website. Here at the Academy our website designers
have accepted and with due diligence followed all
guidelines listed by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)
and The Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).
Thus we have ensured that the HTML code employed,
makes it easy to use speech-output and other assistive
    technology.

    Accessibility for all Users
We are very happy that we have succeeded in creating a
website which is fully accessible to all. The World Wide
Web Consortium’s WAI guidelines say that, in order for
a Website to be considered accessible, it must stick to
the all rules as set out in Priority I and Priority II
    checkpoints.

For instance, Priority I emphasises that when an HTML
document is rendered without associated style sheets, it
must still be possible to read the document and Priority
II stresses the importance of ensuring that dynamic
content is accessible or that provision is made for an
    alternative presentation or page.

We have fulfilled these and all other fixed conditions for
Priorities I and II. We have also used expandable text
and contrasting colours and have worked to ensure that
this website will support various individual customisation
choices with the use of up-to-date browser technology.
We are therefore pleased to commend our site to all
users regardless of their physical or technological
    disability.
